Getting Started

Having your art piece made is an easy, painless process.

You can send me the images in a variety of ways:
-Email me the photos at ericnyestc@yahoo.com My mailbox can accept attachments up to 20mb.  You may need to send multiple emails to get me all of your images.  If possible you may put the photos into a ZIP file.
-Put the digital photos on a CD, DVD, or portable flash drive and mail it to me.
-Send me your printed originals which I will scan and return to you.

Once I receive the photos we will discuss your project and share ideas.  I will create digital mockups of the layout for you and will include a contact sheet of unused images that may be substituted in the layout.  Upon final approval of the proofs I will send the files to my printer to have them printed and will begin work on the woodworking.

To get started you can select the layout size and wood finish from the store section of my website.   You will be sent proofs of the artwork for your approval before the art piece is made.  Once the proofs have been approved and designs sent to my printer the purchase is non-refundable.  If you choose not to go ahead with the project (which has yet to happen) I will refund your purchase price less $100 for my design costs.

The process usually takes about 2-4 weeks to complete from the time I receive your photos.

About the Prints - the Giclee Process
What Is A Giclee Print?
Giclee printing is currently the highest quality standard for printing single or limited edition prints. The term "giclee" (pronounced "ZHEE-CLAY") is a French word meaning "to spray." Giclee prints are created by spraying millions of droplets of ink onto archival fine-art substrates. The word "giclee," as a fine-art term, has come to be associated with prints using fade-resistant archival pigmented inks printed on archival substrates by professional inkjet printers. Giclee prints represent the highest evolution in printmaking technology. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy and richer depth of color than other means of art reproduction possible.

What About Archivability?
Unlike lithographs and serigraphs, giclee prints have undergone extensive third party fade testing. While the predicted display life depends on many variables, giclee prints made with archival pigmented inks are estimated to last over 80 years without noticeable fading. All of our testing information comes from independent testing labs and from the manufacturers of the materials we use. All of my prints also receive a UV coating which further protects the images from the sun and from being handled.

Where are the prints made?
All of my printing is done by Osio-Brown Editions in Elmhurst, IL.  They have shown to produce very high quality prints and have excellent customer service.  I also use them for making print reproductions of my fine art paintings and drawings and would recommend them as the area leader in pricing and quality.
